Arrow Looking for php guru for small job

    Hi,

I've looked through a lot of php news/blog apps in hostscripts but I'm not sure any will perform what I need. If there are any php writers out there, I would like to hire someone for a job.

    Needs:
I want to add a php/MySQL form driven news section in my main webpage. Essentially the news admins enter a TITLE of the news item, and the URL to the news item in submission form. This is time stamped and stored in the db.

Then in the webpage, I want to have the output located in a specific table, using the style sheet I currently employ. The TITLES will appear as links, as in this example, the Naval World News section: http://www.subsim.com/main.htm

The trick, for me anyway, is I want the output to identify (by the time stamp, of course) and present only the 8 latest records. I will make another page that displays the archived records, aka all the records in the database.

So when the news admins add 5 new items, a viewer sees them along with the three remaining items.

I don't care if this is crafted from the ground up or if you use one of the jillions of scripts here and tweak it to cover all the angles: http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...ing/index.html

I know a little php, enough to make changes to my forums, so I don't think this will require a lot of time and effort, just some experience. If you are interested, send an e-mail to subsim@subsim.com.

    Thanks

Sure, if it handles the archiving and latest records as described, I'll be happy to send you some dough. Make sure you examine the example I included above. I looked at the page you supplied and the title is not a link itself.

this is a simple job, you dont need a guru for this one.
I am surprised that hotscripts.com does not have something for this kind of job, so what do they have for news scripts.

If destravation's solution does not work, drop me an email

    Good luck

Here's my contribution to noobs (like me): take a look at Nucleus, it is very easy, configurable, and functional.
