Collaborations required to produce a Portal Community Gaming Website
I'm looking at teaming up with a few people to create a few decent sites for a portfolio. The first site I'm currently working on is [ www portal-gaming com ] which is currently being built using Joomla! (which is php / mysql / css / xhtml based) so it will be fairly complex. Currently I do my own graphics (the logo you can see I made myself) but I'd say I'm only average at it and would like to concentrate more on the functionality of the site.
This could be a good opportunity if you have talent and want to showcase it in order to get employment contracts or if you just fancy teaming up to do something in your spare time!
I have a computer science degree (so programming background) and further experience with php, javascript, java, css and of course HTML including starter/intermediate skills with Photoshop. Currently looking at using the mootools javascript lightweight framework for Web 2.0 projects.
I altered the horizontal ImageMenu provided by the guys at PhatFusion (you can search it on google i think!) as a first example (can provide you with an example if you like).
I would be willing to work on further projects with these people part-time freelancing if the collaboration works out perhaps going on to bigger and better things in the future. It would be preferable that you live in the UK although as long as timezones aren't too far out it's not a problem!
As a background my name's James, I'm 23 and live in Manchester working as a full-time software programmer using Java. A passion for making full functional sites for communities is a must. I have lots of big ideas floating around and am looking for people who have focus, a passion and strong interest in working as part of a team but also can be friendly and relaxed.
So, if this seems like something you'd be interested get in touch with me at my email address on my profile!
Look forward to hearing from you.
