A few of the issues with my Spreadsheet
Hi, thanks for your response to my Excel question.
Long story short, I am trying to automate a process for myself that involves a data file and Excel. Basically, I am using the data file to extract some information that I want and manipulate it to some degree. I have several problems I am running into: 1) Since the data file is an .exe file and opens up to about 12 files, I need to use information from 3 of the files, so I have to manually insert the spreadsheets into my original spreadsheet. 2) Although I have a macro to eliminate all of the columns I do not need, format it and do some calculations, I need to know how to properly use a macro to save the 'VLookup' functions I have in there. 3) I am not sure if there is any way to tell Excel to look at a date that's in the format of '103003'.. I need to eliminate all data that is greater than 21 days old and wanted to automate it, but cannot seem to figure out how. 4) There is data in there that is incorrect (shows up as '-9.9') and I wanted to somehow tell it to eliminate any row that has this data in there, is that possible? I probably have more questions, but those are the ones that are stumping me right now. Thanks again Scott |

lets go back to the source first.
Tell me about these data (.exe) files, if we can do something with them it may short cut to a quicker answer. How are they generated? where do they come from? can they be obtained in any other format? (flat files, .csv etc) Paul |

They are really DBF files, but used in the csv type of format
