Has this been done? Could you do it?

This "project" could be done as a program, or a web ap. I tend to think that a program might be better, or perhaps both!

I was thinking that for many people it might be advantageous to have a program that runs real time investment information on their PC.

I'm not talking for slow-moving investements. The focus would be on the ability to feed stock information directly to the user and for them to view it and analyze it using standard methods.

For mutual funds etc.. it would display common information, but the ideas would be constant feeds of live info, and allowing someone to set deals via their dealer or a live rep...

does anyone know of this is available? I am not talking about the common online web apps. I'm talking something much more usefull, involved, and powerful.
