Help wanted: Port software / design drivers for new Alt. OS
Hello,
I am on a team that is developing a new alternative OS called SkyOS (located at URL). We currently are looking for 4-5 coders with experience in such languages as C, C++, VB/.net, and ASM to port some productivity software to our OS, as well as write some device drivers for hardware (video, sound cards, etc.). Also, once the "to do" list of drivers and software is finished, you would be helping to work on other software (if interested) for use in the OS.
Currently, we can offer no money, as the OS is available for a free download. However, in the future, should the OS become commercially viable, there would be a chance that we need software developers to continue development of the OS, and our software development team would get first shot at the open positions. In the meantime, your name would be listed on our "Software Development Team" section of the website, and you would be more than welcome to use it as a reference.
SkyOS has been in development since 1996, and is a fully-functional operating system. It is currently in a rapid development state, with a new GUI and graphical components coming down the pipe in the next 1-2 months. We hope to build a software development team to match this rapid pace.
If you are interested, please send an e-mail to me (Hexydes, URL) stating your interest. Please also detail the languages you have experience with, how much experience you have with said languages, and a few examples of software you have written or ported.
Thanks for your time!
