How much you would charge?

I would like my search script to do the following

search by keyword

1. taking into consideration that one record could have many categories but only show one instance of that record.

2. also the search results should have a link which will pass the cat_id as well as the record id - e.g. detail.php?cat={$row['cat_id']}&de={$row['ad_id']}

I have a keyword search working except I am having problems with 1 & 2.

I could probably (with a little help from my friends figure it out) but time is of the essence. Some expert could probably look at what I've done so far and see what the problem is straight away)

Please let me know how much you would charge me and how long it would take you.

You'll should provide some more detail. I wouldn't go asking for a price quote (you'll almost certainly get an hourly rate) on debugging. The overwhelming majority of people here are honest, but someone could wander in here from the web and give you the "garage effect" runaround (i.e. "well - I can fix it but I'll need to do x, y, and z first) which would run up their pay without a good reason... I don't know PHP offhand, but I do know perl and I've answered several PHP questions before just by referencing the syntax and using what I knew of perl to come up with the answer. If you want to show me the script, I'll give a look at it (I just recently finished a perl application which does something VERY similar to what you just described) while you wait for a response here. If I get an answer for you before somone gives you a quote, you got free help - if not, nothing lost. If you want, you can send it to: shattoc@earthlink.net . (I'm offering because I keep telling myself I'll actually sit down and write some PHP some day.. but I just never get around to it - this would be good experience and familiarize me with some of the actual mechanisms of the language).
