In need of work
Most of you guys seem like professionals, so im not sure what kind of replies ill get on this.. but im no pro.. in fact im only a 17 year old high school student. I love to make websites though.. I plan to make it into a career someday but im so busy with school right now that I dont have the time to have a job where I have to work a set number of hours a day at a certain time of day.. so im trying to resort to the internet to earn money for college. I dont want to get into detail about my financial troubles right now but if at all possible, I need to earn about $10,000 within a year from now.
I have never done any client work before so I have no idea what people pay for it.. but im not asking for people to offer more money than they would normally pay. I have good knowledge with graphics (with the acception of flash and other animations, which I am currently just starting to learn) and decent knowledge of html, and trying to learn css and php. I dont have any websites online at the time other than some php forums i recently installed but they are on a free server so ive got limited bandwidth that i dont want to be wasted. I do have a bit fancy layout online though that i made recently.. although i dont know if you would call it a layout exactly (i came up with something in photoshop and then just sliced it up into 134 images and threw it online without any coding or anything). It can be viewed here - http://www.ksgamingunion.150m.com/. Anyway, im looking for many ways to make money online.. client work obviosly being one of them.. so if i can help out with anything id be happy to give it a shot. Also.. if anybody has any other ideas on how i can make money online, i would appreciate it if you share them with me . My e-mail address is Sobanart@yahoo.com and i also have aol instant messanger, which is Scooter200515. Also.. please comment about my statement that i need to make about $10,000 in a year being a 17 year old high school student.. id like to know if that is possible, and probable, or if im ganna get laughed at. Thanks. |

Nice site man... hm... I was gonna complain for the long load times and suggest reduced size pictures but I noticed they were already tiny so I guess it's only 150m that sucks... You should try to find another place quickly to show off your work before people think that it is your fault that the page loads slowly.

its actually a layout for a website im currently working on with my friends on another server.. and its also a somewhat larger size than what i plan to use on the website, its just that i thought id put up the fancier version to show graphics-wise what i am capable of.
So.. does anybody have any idea if accumulating around $10,000 in a year by doing graphics client work as a high school student is likely? Im also interested in maybe putting up a website where i can sell templates.. but i dont know how to code the layouts very well that i make.. does anybody know of some tutorials or websites where i can learn? Thanks. |

I don't know if you can get 10k in one year... But if you do that, get a crappy job (fast food restaurant or something...) or even take a year off beween high school and college to accumulate money that is good... I know a lot of people who are taking breaks to accumulate money and get a car for college, but just make sure that you DO come back after... hehe.
About the layout things, usually it's nothing more than just a regualar HTML page with some CSS or whatever else you used in the original, but instead of contents there would be HTML comments saying stuff like <--! Insert header here--> or <--! Add link to menu button picture here --> Hope that helped... good luck man! |
