Hey, great. Things are going well at MH. The reason this post is titled intelligent is that i wanted to get people that were not jsut good moderators, but also fluent in the topic material. If you have any ideas for more threads, let me know. i will have to add threads for the specific scripts with which i get a number of questions.

Also, would you recomend running a different bulletin board system. given its early stages, it is not too late to change.

well, first off, to make you feel maybe a bit better about me, i do have much experience with programming in many languages (C, C++, PHP, ASP, VB, Javascript, CSS, XML/XSL, Python, PERL, flash and actionscript, and more...), and from the threads i see on the bbs, i think id fit right in as an intelligent moderator.
also, i think that for what its for, your bb system is quite sufficient. really all you need is the ability to post threads and for others to read em.
i see that you use your forums threads to also write lil tutorials, and i may want to do something like that for you unless you require yourself to write them.
if you havent noticed, you just got a new user, "darKTerminal" which is me, and ive posted twice so far...

you were upgraded earlier as you already know and i am impressed with your knowledge. I am fluent in php, mysql, and t-SQL, but you, wow. that is a lot of laguanges there.

Not interesting in modding, but just a heads up on your website. You might want to test it on a non-IE browser. There's a thick yellow bar that just sits near the top of the screen while everything else scrolls under it when using Firefox...

I'd be interested in becoming a moderator on your forum. I could cover PHP, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, and maybe Perl, but I don't know the last one *that* well.

I also have a few suggestions. HTML is data format, SQL is a query language, they don't belong in 'programming languages'. For that matter, none of them do, they are all scripting langs, but whatever...

Also, if this is a scripting forum, Java/JSP might be a welcome addition. There is also vbscript, that microsoft crap, it might warrant a board of it's own.

Are you using firfox. i have only tested in IE and NS since 98% of people that come to my site use thos browsers. Also, was the bar across the entire page or just a portion. If it was a portion, then it is because google adsense didn't send an add/

on a sidenote, i am looking to add 22 php scripts that are free for non-commercial. if you sell scripts or something like that, i would be happy to put them on my site and then link to your pay page if anyone wants to buy.

I understand what you are saying about html and sql. it is more that i didn't want to create another board. they are related enough that they will fit in. I myself look at html, php, and mysql as one. there is not a single page that doesn't use the three.

Maybe it was because it's not happening now. It was a yellow bar to the right of that "puzzle" image that stretched across the page and didn't scroll.

A Python forum, definitely (that is, if someone can write a tutorial or mod it or something, cause I can't .
And a '*nix/technical web hosting thingy' forum. You know, Telnet, SSH, telling them how to use Perl on the system, FTP'ing files and the like. Stuff that will cover managing the user's web site.
