**Looking for non-professional programmers, designers and artists**

*The Project*
I am thinking of beginning a new website project consisting of a multiplayer online game. It's very silly.
The style of the game is not unlike that of Neopets, in the sense that it uses PHP and community based play for users to interact with each other and build up an account. The site is called Widgie World, and the basic concept of the game is to buy and sell "widgies", which, unlike a virtual pet game, you do not nurture and love, but simply train to do menial tasks in order to gain profit. There are many details to the game, which I will e-mail to anybody interested in helping out.

*The Pay*
I clearly cannot pay for your help, which is precisely why I am advertising for non-professionals, but if the site ever does make more than enough money to pay for itself, everybody involved will get a cut.

*The People*
I am looking for people of any age who have some spare time on their hands and would like to be part of the project. It does not need seven day a week attention, so long as there is evidence that some work is getting done somewhere! It is bound to take a long time to get running, but any help along the way will be appreciated.

*The Preferences*
For skill level, anything without an obvious mark of amateurism will suffice. Basically, know enough to do the job tidily. Must be co-operative and take the project seriously but not deadly seriously.

*The Positions*

Website Designers/Artists
- must be able to create neat graphics or website shell
*knowledge of HTML essential, CSS/DHTML very useful


Games Graphics Artists/Creative Artists
- must be able to create neat graphics for use on Flash games or generally around the website
*knowledge of how to optimise images for the web essential, some artistic skill quite handy


PHP Programmers
- must be able to create functional scripts in PHP for various aspects of the game
*good knowledge of PHP, especially sessions, and MySQL required


Flash Programmers
- must be able to program simple games and use with MySQL database
*reasonable knowledge of Flash required


Moderators/Beta Testers
- must have some spare time to go through concepts of the game, report bugs, etc
*knowledge of the internet required


As the project is still in it's conceptual stage, if there is no interest, it may yet be abandoned.

Sorry to be so blunt, but chances are about 1 to 50 that if you ask people to join a project that doesn't exist yet, they won't want to join.

Um..look, I'm just trying to find out if there's interest. I'm hardly going to take on a whole project if there is no possibility of finishing it, ie. if I have to do it all myself.

Anyway, I'll take those odds

I'm pretty busy with school, work, and my own projects (see wikitower thread) but I'd love to help with the graphics. If you want a logo, or game pictures just let me know the specifics of what you are looking for. Just a link in a "friends" section is all I ask when I get my site up and running.

PS: I'm quite good with photographs and logos design. I do not have the tools for complex vector graphics yet.
