Looking for someone to help program text based game

Hello. I am currently working on an text-based online game. What I'm looking for is someone who wants to help program it, and work for free... until the game kicks off and we can make it pay to play. I am currently working on making it in pure HTML so I can get the feel of what I want on it, and how want to make it look. You can pretty much use what language you are comfortable in. For sure though, I need someone who knows at least how to make a user data base, as that will be mostly what you are in charge of at first. I'm a first year Computer Systems Engineering student in Galveston, Texas. 26 years old. I am learning C++, and while I have a decent understanding of linked lists and classes, I haven't delved into the graphical arts yet, so this project seems like a good fit for me.
I am currently solo-developing a console/text-based game about medieval Japan, one of my passions and study interests.

Without knowing more about your project it's difficult for me to know if I'm equipped to do what you want. I have built an NPC database for my game that uses random Japanese names and attributes, with different ways of updating and manipulating them. I am also working out an algorithm for having these NPC's duel each other and travel around Japan.

Your project sounds interesting, and I'd like to learn more about it. Even if I wasn't your lead developer, I'd like to test my skills and help out where I can.

What kind of game is it? I've never been in a project before, but it seems that by you experiences I should be the lead programmer... But I want to know what 'genre' the game will be. If it's like an RPG or something I'd be able to add primitive graphics to it. (Like no animations unless you really want them. Just pics...)

I dont know PHP so it would have to be an PERL or mod_perl. But generaly i know a little of everything, and most about programming, so i can do more than just that.

Let me know what kind of game it is ....

Oh, by online did you mean browser based, or just like a normal app window using socket programming?
