MySql DataBase/Server Programmer
I need help with a currenty project. I am attempting to rebuild some server software. Currently when I register an account on my server, it stores he account information using files. I would like it to store information in a database instead. My goal is to make it so people with a website where member data is stored in a database can add the software to thier site and easily integrate thier members into it.

I can help you with this
If you are looking for help with changing the default authentiation and name service configurations of Linux, I can help you with this. There are ways of using relational databases and other technologies to accomplish this.
Please contact me (einhverfr@hotmail.com) to obtain a copy of my resume. I would send it to you but I don't see an email address in your posting ![]() I am LPIC 2 certified and have strong system engineering skills. Hope to hear from you soon. |

I'm not trying to change the computer being used as a server. I want to change the server software itself. For instance if a gamer server or another type of server you run in top of a web server saves account information in files, I want to save account information in a database instead. What I expect I will have to do is recompile the source code for the server implementation.

Clarification
So this is being inserted by the web application written in PHP? I could also do that . I have much experience with authentication systems and could rewrite those sections of the application for you. Write me if you are interested.

For my purposes PHP would work. The current software I have saves the user information in an XML file that contains thier username, password, email address, and icq number. I want to either re-create the software so that it saves this information in a database or create an add-on program that will let it work with a database instead of files. One piece of software is a communication server. The other is a music server I believe, but both save the information in an XML file. I want it to use a database instead. I have tried downloading xml_db scripts but none that work the way I want.

I would be willing to give it a shot. My C skills are sort of rusty, and this would really need to be done in C or C++ (unless you want to worry about differences in message queuing, between the OS's, etc.) Since I can't guarantee results, I won't charge or anything (just want credit if it works).
