Not to be a jerk, but it's usually in bad taste to talk about money, especially in a forum like this.

A $600 project is a pretty minor one. Remember the company you're in on this forum- a large number of folks are full-time web developers/consultants. If you're looking to land clients, you're probably in the wrong place.

Give the kid a break... He's still in the beginning of his teens...

Thanks man! Dude chill. I'm friggin 13 years old and i dont know about u but when u were 13 wasn't $600 a lot? Sorry i didn't realize <i> real </i> developers get more money, but im trying just to get some friggin jobs here, give me a break! oh and thanks. lol.

Sorry, I had no idea that you were thirteen. My comment was unwarranted in that context, and I'm sorry. (Unlike a lot of devshedders, I'm not going to be a coward delete it. That's one of my pet peeves about this forum.)

To talk about money is generally in poor taste, though, just for the future.

Good luck! Doing some pages for free is a good idea to get your name out there. Another good place to get clients is through connections- a lot of jobs are landed through friends of a friend.

You also may want to contact some of the non-profit (or NGO) organizations, or other community groups in your area- a lot of times, they are willing to give breaks to younger folks.

If you have other hobbies, do sites about that. More experience is always good, then you can have a resume of sites to show people.

Just expect to put a little time in up front to prove yourself.

Hey! Thanks for the tips. I really hate getting huge breaks (Like offers) just because im young. As for the deleteing thing, I wouldn't do it myself lol.

Some advice, one consultant to another: learn to speak/type proper English. On the 'Net, no one knows you are young, unless your language is as immature and lousy as in the posts here.

If you want to be taken seriously in the business world, then you need to come across as a serious person. Age doesn't (really) matter; presentation does.

If I was looking for a web developer, and I saw this thread, I'd classify you under "Don't even bother thinking about it".

Get rid of the "leet" crap, drop the geek speak, and present yourself as a real businessman.

Once you do that, you'll find that a lot more people will take you seriously and consider you for future projects.
