Partner wanted for a long term development project
I'm seeing a lot of posts promising the world, so I'll tone down the promises and just tell you about myself and what I'm trying to achieve. I started a website called bottleweb.org a few months ago, and want to develop it into a website for the creation of stimulating and unique content on the topic of renewable fuels.
I want the website to become a place where people can create blogs, discuss on forums and publish articles on topics relating to the environment and renewable fuels. The project will be not for profit for the meantime (currently registered as not-for-profit/non-incorporated organisation in Australia), but as soon as I can establish a source of income through the sale of books, merchandise and carbon credits I would like to invest this money by contracting freelance journalists to create unique content, but that's a story for another day. Here's where I'm at now: I've created a website (bottleweb.org) and a myspace (myspace.com/bottleweb), that has already proven itself to tickle people's curiosity and interest. With a decent web design, blog/article features and some basic SEO I'm sure the website could take off on these merits alone. As soon as we can give the website a reasonable reader base I am confident I can achieve not-for-profit (incorporated) status with the Australian government, at which point we can apply for google credits as we would then fit the criteria fo the google.org fund. A bit about me: I'm 22, I have a degree in Engineering (mechanical/aerospace) from Australia, and have an excellent understanding (and passion) in the fields covered by the wesbite. I can initiate content, and play an active role on the website to drive the discussions in the direction we want to go. I am undertaking postgraduate study next year in sustainable development so I'll have plenty of fresh ideas to keep the content rolling in. I'm a positively minded person, I get along well with people and I know what people want to see and hear. I have a thousand and one ideas on how to make this website into something amazing. I just need someone with a good understanding of computers to make some of the more technical aspects happen. Here's what I'm looking for in a partner: Firstly, I want someone who wants to do this, someone who likes the idea of working together in a team, and is willing to donate some of their time every week to a long term project. I also want someone who is happy with the idea of taking partnership in the project as pay for the time being. In terms of specific skills, I'm looking for someone with skills in the following fields: - php - mySQL - search engine optimisation - The ability to wrap your head around mediawiki, phpbb, etc. I think that sums it up. I have already gained so much satisfaction from the positive comments I receive from people about the work I'm doing, and bottleweb hasn't even begun to take off. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me privately at s4075051_at_googlemail.com |
