I have just installed phpNuke on my website, and I am wanting to add some extra features, although still don't know enough about it to add them myself.
The website is a non-profit community website, where locals can go to find information on the town, local events, and community businesses. If you would like to visit it, the URL is URL and the phpNuke website is at URL (I am planning on replacing the old site with the phpNuke site as soon as I can get this sorted). The main members I will have will be businesses. Is there any way that I can allow these businesses to have their own personal webpage? I just want it to include general contact details, and a small description of their business (and pictures if possible). I need members to be able to update this information automatically (without me having to accept it or anything) when they log in (I want them only to be able to update their page, not the other members), and I need any visitor (not just members) to be able to view these pages. These pages will be for local businesses, so they can sign up to be a member, and be able to advertise things like opening times, contact details, etc to all visitors. Once they have updated their page, I also need a search page (or search block ideally) so visitors can search for a certain business. I only want visitors to be able to search the business pages I mentioned before, not the entire site. I am also wanting to put a classifieds type script on the website, but I only want to offer positions vacant. I don't want anything else to show up (like for sale etc). I want this option to only be available for members to post, but anybody can view. I am currently using my forum for this, but I would prefer to have a seperate page for this, which doesn't look like a forum. Does anybody know how to do this? If you can help me with this, please let me know. As this is for a non-profit organisation I have only a small budget, and can't afford to pay a programmer enough to install this for me, so I am trying to find a way to do it myself. |

I just went and had a look at the gateway site, and it looks great! Is there any way I can control what members put on their site? I want them to only be able to have one page, with no frames, and only be able to post things like phone number, description, opening times, etc (as the pages will be for businesses).
Can I create a form for them to fill out for their details and what they enter will be what will be shown on the site? I also need the pages to fit in with my site, and open up with the menu etc down the side as does the rest of my site. Also, is there a search I can use which would allow my visitors to only search through these pages? Is any of this possible? Thanks so much for your help! |
