price quote for a website
I am interested on knowing how much it would cost to put up a website for a car dealership. The website would have approx. five static pages ( home, about us, directions ,etc. ) and it would have about two or three dynamic ones. they would be one page where the cars the customer selects are listed and from there he can click on any car link and be directed to a page for that specific car which has information and pictures on the car. also if the customer clicks on that picture he can find two or three other pictures of the car in different angles.
I have been told that if there is a search page involved the price is higher so i'd like to know how much more. the dealership has between 50-80 cars at anyone time. and somebody with no web experience like a secretary should be able to take out cars from the site and add new ones and their info from a web based admin page. i'd like some quotes . thankk you |

Hmmm.... that's not a wise way to go. Free consultation:
If you have a revolving inventory that has the same basic characteristics (e.g. engine size, color, options, etc.), it's far better to pay up front to have the system developed using a database/templating system. It's so much easier to maintain a database, plus, if you go the other way and make everything static, you'll get butchered on the maintenance costs. Even paying a secretary 10 bucks an hour to do an 80 car revolving inventory is going to add up to big bucks really fast. [edit] Whoops, sorry. I misread your post and now that I read it again I think you already want to do what I said above. At any rate, assuming the above, I'd peg it at about $900 USD if we include a web-based interface to the database for the secretary to use to update the info. I've been doing these kinds of projects for years and I have already written code that can be immediately applied to this application. If you are interested, drop me an email here:

My goodess. *lol* I'd do somthing like this for about $100 to $150 with a basic search engine and admin panel and no special fancy site layout. Probably $25 extra with decent layout, like this devshed page.

I can't wait to see what $100 gets you, other than an overworked, underpaid, programmer.

When you don't have a job like me and want some small change and don't got much other things too important to do, a hundred buck isn't that bad.
