Seeking some assistance in reviving an opensource game project
I am restarting the dead Space Colony X browser-based game engine http://scx.sourceforge.net at www.elitesquadrons.net.
It it is coded with PERL front end with a C++ backend. I have learned enough to get the system up and running and managed to complete a couple features and get the system to compile under OpenBSD 3.3 (it was coded for Mandrake 5).
The game runs, but not everything is "complete" and I could use some help in sorting through the code, which is a mess since there appears to be at least 2 versions of the code, and begin adding features like an admin interface.
Again, this is an OpenSource Project. I am trying to get enough players to pay dedicated hosting expenses. I am debating whether or not to port the project to a MySQL or PostgreSQL backend and other items. In the future, there could be enough revenue comming in to pay a few extra dollars a month, like helping pay for that DSL line.
Expirance with OpenBSD Unix admin along with Qmail and DJBDNS set up would be helpful too as I still don't have the mail server running.
