The Xerra OpenProject needs help!

Hello Everybody,

I am setting up an opensource project from a php project which I started 6 month ago to make website updating and building easier. Now I am looking for people who find it fun to take this project to the next level and contribute to it with programming and new ideas!

Here is a description of the project:

The Xerra OpenProject is a project for developing an opensource framework for building dynamic websites and internet applications. Besides this framework this project is also a basis for the development of applications and porting existing applications to this framework. The Xerra Framework enables you to build multiple websites and internet systems with one framework and reuse the applications for multiple websites and internet systems all with different layout, style and content.

The framework and applications are programmed entirely in PHP. The framework itself and many applications make use of PEAR, the PHP Extension and Application Repository. It also works with the apache mod_rewrite module.

At the moment there is already a stable version, although there is still a lot of work to do for the setup and managing applications. The framework provides already a configuration container, authentication container, logging container, resource container, preferences container, permissions container and support for users and groups, internationalization, templates, forms, databases, logging, menus, etc.

The application for setting up the framework in a user friendly way is still in alpha fase. At the moment there is a user & groups application, a forum application, a calendar application, a photo gallery application, a navigation application, a content management application and a login application available.

The Xerra package is released under the opensource LGPL license, the individual applications are released under the opensource GPL license.

For this project I am looking for PHP programmers which want to contribute to the framework, applications, or want to develop new applications for the framework or want to port existing application to the framework. I am also looking for project managers for starting up new application projects and for porting existing applications to the framework. Besides programmers I am also looking for translators who wants to translate the text messages of the applications to other languages than English or Dutch.
