Spannerworx is a small and humble new community-based game development team, which formed in December 2002. We are currently working on our first project, titled ‘Critical Supply’. It’s an original 3D game that utilises the cross-platform engine known as The Nebula Device, and development is already well underway.
We are making good progress with our game, and we have decided that it’s time to take on more members. We are looking for people with the following skills:
- C++ Programmers (around 4).
- 3D modellers (around 2 to 3).
- 2D/Texture artists (around 2).
- Game Level/Scenario designers (around 2).
All our current members (seven in total) are dedicated game hobbyists with varying skills and experience, who decided that teamwork is the way forward. We have started our portfolio by avoiding huge, unrealistic goals and instead opted for a small but original game, using a well-established and free 3D engine at the games core (Read about the Nebula Device at URL ). If you are interested in joining up, please remember that you don’t have to contribute ALL your spare time towards the team, and you don’t have to be an expert in your field. We do, however, insist on enthusiasm and as much dedication as you can muster
What are the benefits of joining Spannerworx? Well, at this point in time none of us will get paid (we are initially developing free open-source games), but we are gaining experience. Since we are a team, we bring constant support and motivation to each other. We also have our own advertisement-free and secure ColdFusion powered web site. On the Spannerworx web site members can gain access to the ‘Team Area’. This area contains:
- Our own team forum!
- An area to store and download all game-related data (source code, 3d models etc.)
- A dynamic game design section.
- Information about current team members.
Thanks for reading. If you are interested in joining, or want to learn more about Spannerworx, Critical Supply or The Nebula Device, please send an email to URL or post a message here. You can also visit our web site at URL , but please note that it’s due an aesthetic overhaul, and the majority of the content lies hidden in the Team Area.
