    New web development language

I am one of a small group of developers in the process of implementing a new open source web development language called Bento. Our goal is to bring the full power of object-oriented programming to the presentation layer. You can learn more about our project at http://www.bentodev.org

We are looking for web developers willing to alpha test an experimental but exciting new technology. We would also welcome any Java coders who would like to work on the reference implementation itself.

Anyone interested can respond to this post or email us at alpha@bentodev.org. Thank you!

    Thanks. I fixed the link.

As an illustration of how Bento works, this is what I had to do to fix the problem. I changed this line in the Bento code for the site:
    Code:
        basepage oo_principles [=
    to this:
    Code:
        basepage oo [=
which changed the name of the page from oo_principles to oo (the Bento servlet generates html on the fly by instantiating page objects that have the same name as the requested page without the .html extension).

Suppoose however that for some reason I needed to keep both names -- maybe they used to be separate pages, for example, but now I want to merge them without breaking old links to either page.

In Bento this is simple. Instead of the above change, I can just add the following line:
    Code:
        oo_principles oo [/]
This defines a new kind of object called "oo" which is a subclass of the "oo_principles". The new class doesn't actually add or change anything in the definition, however, so an "oo" is identical to an "oo_principles" except for the name.
