Question 1 compile error in wxPython

Hey, I'm having trouble installing wxPython in Linux(Mandrake 8.1). I have wxGtk installed, but for some reason wxPython won't work. I get one compile error of the following error message when running "python setup.py build:"

error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1

Any ideas?
I'v tried:
--wxPython-2.3.2.1.tar.gz
with --wxGTK-2.2.9.tar.gz

Thanks in advance.

I can't really help you, I'm a W2K user, but have you looked at the build instructions yet?
If you did, try mailing to the mailing lists, because I don't think there are much wxPython users here.
BTW: you could also try the RPM's.

Unhappy I'll see what i can do

I've tried RPM's as well, and it doesn't work, even when I follow the Build Instructions(BUILD.unix.txt).

I will try to post on mailing lists, and if I get a solution, I'll post it here.
