Question browser-based word processor?

(please forgive me for cross-posting -- I'm not entirely sure where this message should go)

Hello! I'd love to create (or find, though I don't think one exists) a browser-based word processor that uses XML as the native code for its documents. This would enable true platform-independence. Does anyone out there have any guidance as to how I could get started?

Any info you can share is most welcome...

Thanks in advance,
Dieter

FunkyMonkey, any luck yet? You posted your message on August 8th, 2001. Just in case, though, here is a link for you:

Maybe this will help you find one that already exists. Good luck!
