    Database connection for Python

    Hi,
I am trying to connect SQLServer DB to python. On googling i found that win32com.client has to be imported to the coding.
It says no module named 'win32com.client' on running the program.

Could anyone say what has to be done.

    Regards,

On windows there is a odbc module.

    See http://www.python.org/windows/win32/odbc.html for details.

The odbc module implements the Python Database API Specification v2.0 which can be found here: http://www.python.org/peps/pep-0249.html

You Should check out Pythons DataBase SIG. Also, I would recommend Scorpi's article on ADO.

    http://www.python.org/sigs/db-sig/
    http://www.mayukhbose.com/python/ado/

The error your getting regarding win23.client is likely because the standard Python distribution doesn't come with Mark Hammond's win32all module. You can download the extensions from:

    http://starship.python.net/crew/mhammond/win32/

    Hope this helps,

    Mark.
