IRC Bot Problems - Socket Sending

    Ok, here's what I'm sending.

    sock.send("PRIVMSG %s :\x01ACTION %s\x01" % (CHANNEL, text))

The socket, and everything else is set up right. This is the right way to send an action to the server according to the RFC 1459, but for some reason it doesn't send it right. I think it might be a python socket problem, has anyone else encountered this? Or know how to fix it? I would appreciate any help.

Python shouldn't have any problems with sockets. It handles them pretty well. I would suggest looking around on ASPN for some Python IRC code. I've even seen full IRC bots with all features in them on there as well. Here is a link to the Python section of ASPN ActiveState:
