    I saw on a website and in a book that python is an open source
    is that true?

    If it is is there anywhere to download its script?

    In general if you read it in a book then it's usually a good assumption that it's the truth, as long as the book is reputable that is; in this case it is .

    If you've read it on the web then you should take it with a little more skepticism until you've confirmed it.
