Question I just started- please help.

Hi, I guess you see my username and I think it would be cool to make a program, I've seen a little scripts- so I'd like to know that- since I want to learn: where should I start? Also, I was just wondering... can you make an entire program with Python? Like for example Age of Empires or HALO or something, now I know I'm not gonna figure it how(if possible) the second I learn what to write, but I'm just wondering if it's possible.

Of course u can make a whole program in Python. Take for instance Jext, a text editor for Java, www.jext.org You can make games in Python, see www.pygame.org. There is also an implementation of Python on a Java platform, www.jython.org
These are some of the sites that can help you realize how powerful Python is. Hope it helps.

You should start with the Python intro page, but to repeat, yes you can write whole systems with Python; or use it as a glue language to let components writen in other languages work together.

Anyway here are a few links to get you started (all on pythons homepage)

    http://www.python.org/doc/Summary.html
    http://www.python.org/topics/learn/
    http://www.python.org/doc/2.3.4/
    http://www.python.org/Quotes.html
    http://www.python.org/doc/Intros.html

Have fun and welcome to the exciting world of the program,

    Mark.
