What can I do do get a correct formated doc file as a result ? Also, I'd like to extend the ideea as to be able to insert excel spredseets into the resulted doc file.

This is not really a Python problem.

I am not aware of any utilities that Python could call directly. My suugestion is that you investigate Open Office macros to see if you can call their Word equivalent (Writer I think) from Python and automate the process that way. It won't guarantee that all formating will be preserved.

    I will investigate that idea.
It might prove the solution for another issue that I like to solve - converting html files into MS Word doc files.
