MIRC bot

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to write a RPG/MUD (Multi User Dungion) MIRC bot in Python, i've done a search on google and i couldn't find anything on making the bot, somone point me in the right direction.

By MIRC do you mean ... IRC? If so, there are plenty of Python IRC bots out there. I've created one and I'm currently working on one (that's vastly better than the one I created). Obviously, I'd recommend that you use the second one instead.

whats does ur bot do exactly and what kind of web space or what ever it needs, do i have to have to run it?

My bot isn't all that great, it's got quite a bit of bitrot in it and needs an overhaul. Besides, supybot will soon be able to do everything moobot does exactly the same way (once me and a few other hackers work the issues out). Plus supybot is just a better architecture in general and it can do a ton of cool stuff that moobot can't.

Anyway, if you have python 2.3, you can run supybot. That's really the only requirement. There are a few libs you'll probably want to have, like PySQLite, but to get just the bot running all you need is python 2.3 (yes, 2.3 is required).

so is there need in getting one of the bots u have at the moment? if ur remaking

also whats servers on mirc allow python bots?

Listing them would be too long ; just check the MOTD when you log on the network. If they don't mention bots, then I really recommend you e-mail the sysadmins about it so you don't have too much trouble.

And please stop calling it mirc, it's IRC. mIRC is just a crappy IRC client, it's not the name of the protocol.
