First, please pardon me for my bad English.
I'm a programmer in China, studying Python. Now,very very few people in China know what Python is. I'm just wondering: Is Python popular in America? Is there any business projects developed with Python? What's the snake's future? I'll be grateful if you post replies. I'm very sorry about my bad English.... |

Zope is Python's killer application. Zope is an application server written in Python with a few C modules. It is an open source object oriented environment.

Why is everyone apologizing for bad English?
You guys could probably teach English grammar here in the U.S. Oh well, sorry for my poor English, too... What can I say, I'm American! Oh yeah, about Python... I work in the IT industry and I would say that nobody else in my office, knows much (if anything) about Python (and even less about Zope). I am curious, but I must admit that I know very little about them as well. I think that right now in the U.S. there is not as much recognition to many of the open source projects as the truly merit. The notion of "How would we support that?" always comes up when I talk about them, along with doubts that it would work on an "Enterprise" level. For this reason, a lot of companies I think go with overpriced internet solutions that are backed by big corperations. Are they better? I don't know... I don't think so. Perhaps corperate America won't really embrace this technology until a company (like RedHat has done for Linux) decides to distribute it so that "buy it" from someone. Hell, I could be full of crap... maybe people out there disagree with me. It's not like I've really researched this or anything, thats just how it seems to me. DOGG |
