    Python in web development?

Anyone know of any practical examples/projects of web development that includes python? I would like to learn python, but for me, it would be most useful in a web application development capacity, and some socket communication (which I have been browsing a bit). Games, ecommerce, mysql capabilites. Or would it be better to stick with straight PHP, or follow the .NET route?

I had done some reading in the past about web browser 3D games utilizing python, but the concensus seemed to be unpractical because of bandwidth.

    Thanks!

    1) install mod_python
    2) install python-mysql for MySQL interface.
    3) Try out the tutorial.

    and away you go

There are also a number of bigger Content Management Systems which are python based like Zope or Plone.

The one problem is that it can be hard to find hosts with python support.

    Sites using CherryPy
    Sites using Twisted
    Sites using Quixote
    Sites using Webware
