Can anyone give me some ideas for some simple programs (not too simple though That I could attempt to write. Mathmatically oriented would be good, but it doesn't matter..

Possible ideas:

1. Prime number generator

2. Perform a linear regression (find the overrall slope) of a function defined by a list of coord. pairs (i.e. [(0,12),(1,10),(2,5)...])

3. Interractive prompt that takes calculation inputs from user (i.e. "1+1") and returns the result

Hint:
You can use os.stdin and os.stdout for input and output.

4. Using the wxPython package, do a simple plot of the values in a list or coord. pairs (see #2)

Hints:
Use a wxPanel and override the wxEVT_PAINT event.
In the event handler, perform the plotting using the wxPaintDC object methods wxDrawLine, etc.
