Speech recognition

I'm looking for a speech recognition system for python.
I of course googled it and found various projects but dragonfly didnt install/wouldnt install and all the other programs were horribly out of date.

I was wondering if someone else uses something like this, and what the most preferable project is compared to others.

I'm looking to design something that allows me to ask my computer what time it is out loud, and it tell me (Something simple)

I haven't used python in a long while so i'm looking for something slightly complicated but easy enough to do to get me back into it, so any tips on my idea would be helpful.
