Unique inspiration from python? ei google?

I wanted to find out what the unique inspiration from python was, what makes it stand out - and how does this relate to google's choice to use it? Or was their some business relationship involved there as well.

thanks!

Python has always been available to everyone. They have no special relationship with Google. The people at Google use it because it works very well for their purposes. However, it is by no means, the only language that Google uses. As for Python's inspiration, Guido has mentioned that he took a lot of it from the ABC language that he helped develop, while he was working with the AMOEBA operating system.

Like most other users one of the qualities that may have attracted Google to Python is scalabilty. Python is an excelent choice of both small and very large projects and its clear syntax makes for easy to read and maintain applications .

Python is also known as a "glue" language so it plays well with others and as Scorp said "it is by no means, the only language that Google uses"

You might also find the pyGoogle module intersting - the Python Google interface.
