Hi all~
my OS is RedHat7.1 and I want to practise Python on it. I searched www.python.org but found the package only for RedHat7.3, 7.2 and 6.2~ Is that fit for my OS please ? ![]() |

I think you should have no problems. But, I think you probably already have Python installed with your Linux distribution - just type "python" (w/o the quotes) at the command prompt and see what's happening. cya |

the later rpms should work, but dont remove the old version of python, rh uses it for other things. the rpm will install the new version as python2.
i removed my old version and up2date would not work, so had to reinstall python 1.5.2. once installed do command = which python2 , this will tell you which directory it lives in. antwerx "Do or do not, there is no try!" |

thanx guys, I'll try it.
and another thing comes, that is how to use color highlight with python ? It really helpful when programming but I couldnt figure out how to start it in Linux shell, should we ask for something else's help ? thanx in advance~ |
