    Why is Pyramid Not Popular

Was hoping for some insight from someone doing python web development and can shed some light on the Pyramid framework. From searching it is my perception that Pyramid is not as popular as Django or Web2Py.

Is there directly a reason for this that is obvious to a newbie to python web frameworks?

From reading http://docs.pylonsproject.org/projec...pyramid-unique It would seem that Pyramid has a lot of features.

It appears to me that Pyramid is trying to stay out of your way and let you choose your preferred resources and styles as you want. This seems good to me as it doesn't enforce any particular templating system or database on you but rather utilise the python ecosystem more fully. So i was impressed, but then also noted the latest version fully supports python 3 so I can start on python 3 as well.

What am I missing what are the other frameworks offering that Pyramid doesn't or is perceived it doesn't?

though I suspect you are trying to make a different point.
A web application framework is a software framework that is designed to support the development of dynamic websites, web applications and web services. The framework aims to alleviate the overhead associated with common activities performed in Web development. For example, many frameworks provide libraries for database access, templating frameworks and session management, and they often promote code reuse.[1] For a comparison of concrete web application frameworks, see Comparison of web application frameworks.
