Lightbulb Interesting Idea - Need Help

Hi, I'm new to the forums and fairly new to python, but I'm not new to programming.
I'm an avid player of ArmA II and for those not familiar with the game, it has an in game voice communication system. I recently discovered that you can play custom sounds from the game directory in-game as if through the microphone, but the sounds are downloaded by the server and have file-size limits. My idea is to make a script that waits for certain hot keys and plays sound files through the microphone, client side to avoid file size limits. I must be able to add new sound files after the script has been written. Is this possible and if so, how? Thanks in advance.

I'm kinda dense. Microphones are input devices. How would you play sound through one?
