CMS in Ruby?
Being a long time programmer of PERL/jsp, I am decided to try Ruby/RoR. But it seems like Ruby does not have many CMS options. All I can find is Radiant, but nothing similar to Joomla or Drupal. Am I missing something or every RoR programmer would choose to write their own CMS?

Ruby is only a new language, Its nothing compared to the likes or Perl/PHP/Python for CMS stuff (although i wish it was) But that doesn't mean to say that there aren't CMS projects..
ajaxlines.com/ajax/stuff/article/top_ruby_cms.php If you program Ruby as much as i have, You would also want to code your own CMS, just to spend more quality time with Ruby :P |

Thanks, but in the list, the only real, production ready, general (not just blog tools) CMS is Radiant. To be honest, no matter how easy it is using RoR to implement a CMS, it still takes much time to create a CMS comparable to Drupal, not to mention all its plugins/extensions.
To me this is the biggest problem that I don't want to switch to RoR. I like the Ruby language, the ideas behind, and the RoR framework. I really want to switch, but it seems to me I will get into lots of troubles when my boss/my clients ask for a sophisticated CMS for a new web project based on RoR. |
