Creating My First Rails App. Feedback wanted.
Hey guys,
Im brand new to Rails (like, I just got interested this weekend) and it just so happened that my AP Java teacher gave us an assignment called "Passing on the torch" which I could use Rails for. The objective of the assignment is to do something (anything) that would help future java students (Anything from making up assignments, to powerpoints, to webpages) My idea was to create an online Java API for the students. They would be able to search for classes that they could use, download them, and even login and upload their own classes. Right now its just a thought and its due next friday (6/1/07) so I've got to get started (I'm splitting the work with a friend). So, ideas, comments, seen anything like it, or does it just suck? Thanks -Amir

yea ive seen stuff like this. however it does look like a good project. I would go for it. I would warn however that if youre not already up and running with rails you might want to opt for a php/mysql type option, it does require a bit of learning to get used to how the rails application works.
