Ruby 4 newbies?

Hi,

I'm just learning to program - I know very, very, very little... Is Ruby good for a first language? I started with C++, but was told Ruby and Python would be more enjoyable (and I have found Ruby to be). I couldn't figure out how to get Python working on my Mac's XCode, but Ruby was not a problem, so I'm practicing on that. Good idea?

Very good idea. Ruby is great for beginners and still great for advanced users. It's one of the few languages that actually makes sense.

Chris Pine has a great tutorial for beginners if you were to google, and ruby-lang.org has some useful links
