    Newbie Question

Hi, I'd like to know if Ruby is a good choice for the first programming language to learn, it seems to be easy.

I suppose it all depends on what your ultimate goals are. Having said that and without knowing your goals learning Ruby as your first language should not pose a problem. If, six months down the track, for whatever reason you have to learn language X, the six months on Ruby will not have been wasted. You will be transferring all the concepts (OOP) learned and for language X you'll probably skim to chapter 3 or 4.
