any scripts to offer free email to your users?

Hello I am looking for scripts that will allow me to offer free email to my users.
The only thing I found on the web is this: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scripts/webmail/index.htm and NOTHING else... There must be some other companies offering this kind of solution, ins't there? Any open source projects by any chance?
Thanks for your advice and links.

It wouldn't be that difficult to write something basic. The more bells and whistles the more difficult it would be obviously. You didn't mention anything about the environment you want to run it in, so I can't make any further recommendations. But as an example, I have a coldfusion book sitting next to me that has all the code for a simple web-based email client. I wouldn't necessarily recommned going the CF route, simply illustrating the ease in finding what you're looking for.

Perhaps more important is the bandwidth drain you'll experience if users really take advantage of your offer. You might want to re-read your hosting TOS to make sure you're not in violation.

I would be interested in running it in a PHP/MySQL environment and possibily integrate the log in of the webmail with the log in of Mambo Open Source and of Simple Machine Forums.

I have learned of HiveMail.com in the meantime and I am now looking into OpenWebMail.org

I have 12Gb bandwidth with my 8-95.com hosting account. Shouldn't that cover my back?

Should be easy (relatively speaking) to do from scratch using PHP/MySQL but there's likely several free systems for download out there. If you're going to want to integrate it with other products that could be a little trickier. A homegrown solution would probably lend itself to integration better because you could build it with the integration in mind.

As far as your bandwidth allowance, I wouldn't trust any specs given with a $9 account, and if your mail proves popular it could easily generate more traffic than you're allowed.
