guestbook scripts can't be this difficult, can they??
For the past two days I've been trying to get a guestbook script to work. I've tried Matt's [URL and signit.cgi from [URL I've tried very hard to chmod as directed and to edit in notepad and to upload using ASCII, but I cannot get either of these scripts to work. Is anyone interested in helping me?
I'd prefer to get Matt's version to work because it does not require the viewer to enter email address. |

Probably the fastest and easiest way to use a guestbook would be through php and mysql. Nice thing is that you clarify what they enter such as name, email, comments, etc... You can leave it optional to enter the email address and even do things such as turn the username into a clickable contact link if they do enter their address. If a guestbook starts getting large and is stored in a .txt file, you're not going to be happy with the speed of the results it displays.
