Help decide on a script
I am currently looking in to helping my friend with a site. He is a car dealer. He wants to be able to submit a few images of each vehicle. Some may have one image some may have more. Then he wants to be able to have some information under or on the same page talking about the price and other thing related to the vehicle.
He does not want to be able to sell online. He wants to provide the information and make available his number for them to call if they are interested. A few links to places where people can apply for loans will be put on the site somewhere. Any ideas? |

What scripts out there would be good for this? I been looking at some CMS, but don't to get the portal or blog look.

If you don't want it to look like everything else on the web, you'll either have to write it yourself or customize the templates that come with a third party app. IMO, building it yourself might be easier than customizing templates. Some of the third party template engines are amazingly complex for being a template engine.
You might get away with a picture gallery. This would allow you to "drill down" into make and model before providing pictures of each car. Most gallery scripts have the ability to add a caption, but you might have to tweak it a bit to allow for more characters than a standard caption. |
