Integrate chat into a website
I'm looking into integrating chat into a website and so far it seems that a hosted Java chat solution makes the most sense. Taking the next step, one such service that has come to my attention is ParaChat (www.parachat.com). Has anyone used ParaChat or another such service? I also welcome any other suggestions regarding implementing chat.

Java chat, eh?
Why not go the route of an IRC channel? Definitely not proprietary. For a web-based Java client, you should definitely give PJIRC a try: http://www.pjirc.com/ It's GPL'd, which is definitely an added plus. If you need a list of some common IRC servers that are used publicly, it shouldn't be too hard to find some by searching on Google. Two prime examples are DALnet and EFnet. Or, you could host your own IRC server, if you want to be exclusive or have the resources...
