Lock Files From Outsiders

Hey,

I'm trying to find a tutorial of some sort that will show me how to do this, but with no luck I have come here .

I want to lock all the files in a particular folder (password protect) so that people cannot access them if they type: mydomain.com/files/. Simply becuase they wont know the password. However, i want to be able to access the files from inside the website, once the user logs in. So once they login, I can place a url like: mydomain.com/files/file1.mp3

Background info: This is for a music site where people can upload their music and others can download it, but I dont want unauthorized people downloading. I want them to login first.
