Question about this referrer tracking script and nameservers
On our website we installed a referrer tracking script:
http://rkrt.redkernel-softwares.com/ The script is installed and work but I have a question about referrer tracking in general. Referrer tracking tracks referrers. So far, so good. But what I'm trying to accomplish is the following: - Suppose we have a domain name www.dn.com and it has 2 nameservers: www.ns1.com and www.ns2.com - On the nameserver I create 2 A records: one for dn.com and one for www.dn.com - Obviously the A records point to the server IP - on the server I don't do anything (not so nice, I know, but it worked untill now) What that does it simply shows the first website on that webserver (I believe it is the first site in httpd.conf is but that is not the issue now). This was a good solution for me since I have a bunch of domain names which I all wanted to point to that first website anyway. But now the referrer tracking does not seem to work. I mean: it works to track referrers (duh!) but it does not seem to track my... uh... what should I call them... 'redirects'. Any suggestions on how I might be able to solve this? I tried to add some of the domain names (e.g. www.dn.com) as web server alias for that first site on the webserver but that did not do the trick... Thanks in advance! |

Moved from PHP to Scripts ...
It's going to be difficult to help you with this b/c we have to know your definition of a "redirect" and have a good understanding of your third party software.

The question basically is: how can a referrer tracking script (any referrer tracking script) track type-ins when a domain name is configured as explained in my original post (i.e. the A record just points to the webserver)?

Referer tracking system
Referer tracking system are basically domain name based some are which can not configured on domain base so its seem that your referer based system is actually domain based so not getting the resuls.
