Telnet locks up on sql statements

Background info - i put together an online system to track inventory. I use a perl script to create some sql statments for me so that when I dispose of large amounts of junk, then I can just give it a txt file of asset numbers and it creates the inventory update sql for me to paste in. I've also used excel to do similar updates for other batches of data.

So I've been using this for a few years without problems. Recently I got a new computer at work, same OS, but 4 times the RAM and a newer processor. Everytime I run these large batches of sql statements, it will lock up my telnet window at after about 20 statements and then eventually it locks up my whole PC. I can just unplug my LAN and then plug it back in and it disconnects the telnet and my PC is fine.

So my question is, what in the world would be casuing my new PC to lock up like this? It's not the servers I'm connecting to because I can do the same process from another PC and it's fine. How can a system with so much more power lock up like that? I don't see how it can be a buffer issue?

I can't believe that not a single person has a single iota of help on this.

Check your error logs. Clearly no one who has run across this issue has read this thread.

You have 46+ threads on these forums asking for help and most of the time receiving it. I do not see where you have offered any help to other users.

In actual fact, I have just been browsing some of your past posts and seen the hostility and lack of gratitude that you have given towards some of your would-be helpers. Here is a prime example.

If you had posted information pertaining to your problem, such as commands issued, errors logs, configurations, etc, then someone may have been able to assist you.

    So have some rep.

Well last time I checked, forums were for asking for help. And I've gotten plenty attitude out of folks or the typical jerk type comment. Forgive me for finally being tired of dealing with it. That "prime example" of guelph, was also a prime example of one of those users that is always a jerk no matter who he's posting on. Think's he's god or something...please. And never once has he actually been the one to answer the problem, so thanks.

There are no errors or log information. I'm pretty sure I described what was happening and how it wasn't related to the command (since that works on other systems).

No one forced you to reply either bucko. If this thread dies, so be it.
