Uploading the .forward file to my server

I'm installing a script on my server for an autoreponder.

It asks me to upload the .forward file to my server.
This is what it says:

Uploading and renaming the .forward file
Check that your web server does not already have a .forward file in your main login directory. Note that this may not appear in your FTP client. You may need to login through telnet and use the ll (lower case LL) to see it.

Using your FTP client in ASCII transfer mode, upload the edited 'forward' file to the main login directory of your web server. Note that this file is called 'forward' when you upload it but must be renamed '.forward' after upload. This is a Windows limitation.

But I already have a .forward file on my server from another installation which has to do with something else.

How can I get this one on there as well and yet allow both to function properly?

Appreciate the help,

JH

There may be a way to combine them, but since you didn't mention what the exisiting one does, it's impossible to advise.

Maybe this link will be helpful.

Thanks for that.

One .forward file contains:
\username, "|/usr/bin/perl /home/username/public_html/cgi-bin/autoresponder/emailcapture.pl"

and the other one goes like this

\emailaddress, "|/usr/bin/perl /home/username/public_html/cgi-bin/uam/uamemailcap.cgi"

I have tried both of them in the same file but it doesn't work.

I checked the [age you gave me but it doesn't seem to address my problem.

I have uploaded the .forward file to the root folder (the parent of public_html)

Any ideas?

JH
