Post Advise: A good CMS for a Newspaper website

    Hi,

We are intending to redo our newspaper site using a content management system but so far we have not made up our mind on which to use. We have looked at Postnuke,PHPNuke,Xaraya and MDPro but they miss some things.

    Features are;
Website has different topics like national, headlines, sports, midweek etc and we want each to have a custom look for their index page or first page. In that articles meant for national go to national but on the homepage we can have a block of news titles for each topic.

Also on the first page or index of every topic, there should be at least one picture.

In addition, an option when adding stories to insert a picture.

Lastly, users can subscribe to news articles.

    Any help is much welcome

What exactly are you looking for ?

Do you want someone to customize one of the CMS scripts you've listed for you?

Or, do you want someone to develop a CMS to your specs for you?

no. i want advise on some CMS that can do what i've listed.

Can you customize Postnuke coz the only feature that it lucks is the ability to display each topics in a different index with different look and feel.

    yeah --

there was a link around some where which let you test the admin panels of about 50 or so open source web CMS programs (mainly php) which is useful because you can test different ones and ones you never heard of.

i cant find it right now though

Lightbulb A CMS for newspapers, journals, and magazines

    Kimmy Cool,

Our team was looking for something similar to what you've described. We are actually developing our own solution for newspapers, magazines, and journals. Please go to our website and sign up for the free beta version.

    the website is [URL Removed].

    Hope this helps!

    CMS for Newspapers

    Hi.
We went with [Text Removed] for our newspaper site [URL Removed] . Good thing about this solution is that it was instant, required zero html etc and was built for newspapers, ie not just another cms promissing the everything for nothing.
