2 sites but virtually same content

I am designing a site for a client who is wanting one site with a price page on and another site hosted elsewhere (where their agents can point visitors to) without a price list page.

The sites need obviously to be hosted in 2 separate places both with their own unique domain name. But I am worried...

I have read that mirrored sites can be penailised by search engines. Have I got the right definition of mirroring? The sites would have exactly the same content apart form one having a price list and the other not.

Any advice much appreciated.

Two sites that have nearly identical content isn't quite as bad as it sounds. If the content is a litlte different then the SE's might let you get away with it. The main problem that you'll find if there is a problem is that the duplicate pages of one of the sites will be dropped while the other site shouldn't suffer to much. Which site actually gets the penalisation is anyones guess and depends on when the robots crawl both sites, and how far they dig.

manxkippers. this is rudradatta wish you to give the answer of your question.you have two sites with different domain and same content.

according to google guidlines two sides having same content are called the mirror sites and google may penalise the site according to benefit of doubt.

you can keep the content same but try to use different words and synonims so as to save your site from google spam. you have to change the content to a different writing and different language if you want to save youe sites. any doubts you can ask.
