Extro: I highly dis recommend this. Google tracks the IPs and doing this over and over tells google you are the same person who really likes that site(big whoop) or you are the owner and your elevator stopped. Either way it will never help you in a positive way. Oh and you may see your site all the sudden shoot up and WOW!! you are #1. But you aren't really. It will be your personalized seach is turned on and because you visited your site so much google puts it at the top for you and YOU ONLY.
If you want to get a high position on Google get good links from content pages. Don't get a link from a links page or link farm. They can hurt you. Get a link from a content page such as a link from a resource on Heart Disease to your heart disease site. Having a link from a gambling site to a Web Hosting site will never be positive. No matter how high the PR is.

As said before, the clicking your own content is not going to help.
The CHEAPEST way to get good rankings is to work at it. You need relevant link exchanges.
You need dynamic and refreshing content that the spiders can cache.
You need a good linking structure.
If you want quicker results try spending small amounts on adwords.
In doing this you can see if your traffic really increases. If it does spend more based on the extra profit.
One thing I think should be stressed here, there is NO quick, easy, cheap solution to getting into a well ranked spot on google.

Maybe I misunderstood you but using Adwords will not effect your rankings. Also link exchanging is not waht it used to be. It is best ot get quality content page one-way links.

Forgive me but what is wrong with everyone? Everyone is so crazy about getting a high PR you would think every number higher you go you get $5,000. Why doesn't everyone focus on getting high ser? That is where traffic comes from. If google used the toolabr PageRank to rank sites I could rank a site for ANY keyphrase within a couple of months. It would just be another MSN. You want traffic and conversions right? Focus on getting them by getting quality backlinks and writing quality articles for your site.
